Current Position Information: Senior Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Specialist to play a lead role within the Reservoir Engineering Team. Typical projects are both Canadian and International, and involve an inter-disciplinary team approach, based in our Calgary office.
The Role :
We are looking for a Senior Reservoir/Petroleum Engineer to take a lead role in delivering high quality consultancy services to Clients. The successful applicant will have extensive industry experience in the following:
• Reservoir engineering input to multi-disciplinary projects including field development planning, enhanced oil recovery, asset management, performance analysis, reserves determination and auditing, economic assessments, peer reviews and due diligence. • Conduct and manage reservoir engineering studies using state-of-the art techniques including; reservoir simulation, streamline modeling, integrated asset modeling, material balance, decline curve analysis, well test analysis, etc • In the absence of the Team Lead; manage daily activities by providing leadership and technical expertise to the reservoir engineering team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, motivating and mentoring staff to encourage on-going professional development.
Main Responsibilities :
This is predominantly a technical role and will also involve the management of small teams of technical staff. The successful applicant should expect to work on and/or oversee multiple projects that often run simultaneously.
Typical projects involve providing technical petroleum engineering input to:
• Reserves Evaluation • Field Development Planning in remote and frontier areas • Production Enhancement and Field Revitalization • Reservoir and Asset Management • Heavy Oil Developments • Enhanced Oil Recovery and Greenhouse Gas Sequestration • Unconventional Gas • Acquisitions and Divestments
Skills :
The successful candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
• 15+ years of diverse progressive petroleum engineering experience. Applicants will preferably have both International and Canadian experience • Entrepreneurial attitude combined with exceptional technical and communication skills and a collaborative approach towards clients and colleagues • Initiative in solving complex technical problems and decision making ability • Results focused team player with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and work without supervision • Ability to mentor less experienced professionals • Demonstrated business acumen and an interest in a broader perspective • Ability to clearly advise clients on technical matters, often at a senior level • Leadership and management skills • PC literate and familiarity with state-of-the-art engineering software • University engineering degree and APEGGA membership • All applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
