The Subsea Pilot Operated BOP Control System equipment to interface with existing designed for the control and operation of one subsea installed BOP Stack and Lower Marine Riser Package
(LMRP). This proposal contains information for the following components:

_ Umbilical Reels, blue and yellow
_ Stack and LMRP Mounted Equipment
HOSE REEL ASSEMBLIES BLUE/YELLOW
Two (2) powered hose reels, colored coded blue and yellow, store the subsea control hose bundles and reel in or out when retrieving or lowering the pods, the complete blowout preventer stack or the lower riser assembly. A small control panel on each hose reel permits operation of selected blowout preventer stack functions, i.e. Annular, Wellhead and LMRP Connectors functions. The Subsea control hose consists of 3/16” pilot lines and one (1) 1” ID supply line encased in a 3/16” thick layer of
polyurethane. The one (1) 1” supply line directs the operating hydraulic fluid of the subsea modular control pods. The 3/16” pilot lines direct the hydraulic pilot signals to the valves in the Subsea modular control pods. The hose bundle will be supplied to include Ten (10) additional pilot lines. The capacity of the reels shall be 3,500 ft. The reels are constructed as a compact unit with all components required for operation, mounted on the reel drum and within the reel structure. Air-motor drive units drive these reels. Pneumatic power has to be provided from the rig air supply with minimum 110 psi.
Pneumatic Motor and Drive System
A shaft mounted pneumatic motor and gearbox unit will drive the hose reels. The pneumatic motor as well as the gearbox are sized for operational conditions, sufficient to deploy and retrieve the hose and incorporate variable speed controls for Forward, stop and reverse. The pneumatic power to drive the pneumatic motors will be supplied from the rig air supply. The air conditioning units in the air powered hose reels provides clean and lubricated air for the motors during operation. Power from the pneumatic motor will be transmitted directly to a gearbox to rotate the drum. A mechanical locking pin is provided to prevent reel drum rotation during periods of operation inactivity and transport. The pin will lock the drum in approx. 90° intervals. A manual control valve, spring centered three-position/two way type, for the reel operations are installed on the reel drive motor. The hose reels employ self-tensioning control.
The Subsea Modular Control pods contain the valves that direct the hydraulic fluid to the hydraulically- operated components of the blowout preventer stack. The hydraulic fluid is supplied to the pods through the 1” supply lines in the control hose bundles and from the subsea accumulators.
The pods contain pressure regulators, three- valves and four- way, two- and three- position, pilot-operated valves. The control system has two identical Subsea Modular Control Pods, one blue and one yellow. Only one pod operates at a time. The pod that is not in operation serves as a backup unit.
Subsea Hydraulic retrievable Modular Control Pod (one "blue" & one "yellow"). Each pod contains sufficient valves and manifolds to operate all BOP functions to provide 100 percent redundancy. The connectors are retractable. Each pod consisting of the following main items:

All valves and pressure regulators are designed for easy access and replacement. All normal maintenance processes are done without disturbing any hydraulic hose or tubing fittings. All valves and regulators are constructed of stainless steel and other corrosion resistant materials for extra long service life. The pilot ports of all valves are equipped with purge fittings so that air and stagnant fluid can be flushed without disconnecting tubing or hoses.
All Cameron valves and pressure regulators use sliding metal-to-metal, shear type seals for highest reliability and durability with control fluids which can easily become contaminated with particles in the offshore drilling environment.
All hydraulic supply and outlet connections are made through two, pressure-balanced, male, multiport connectors extending from the bottom of the pod. One is for all of the BOP-Stack functions, and the other is for the Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP) functions and the main supply and return fluid connections. The two connectors may be independently extended and retracted. The connectors are typically retracted during pod installation, retrieval and pod leak testing. The primary reason for retracting these connectors is to protect them from damage during running and retrieval operations. The individual port seals on the male stabs are easily replaced and are extremely durable; they can be successfully disconnected under full pressure without damage.
BOP-STACK AND LMRP MOUNTED EQUIPMENT
In order to achieve a full operable BOP Control System following items needs to be installed onto the BOP-Stack and onto the Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP):
Subsea LMRP Mounted Accumulator
Based on the Accumulator Volumetric Capacity Calculation in accordance with API requirements, following accumulator quantity will be installed onto the Lower Marine Riser Package(LMRP)
Twelve (12) 15 gallon nominal capacity WP hydro-pneumatic accumulators, bladder type, will be mounted onto the Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP). They are installed to provide the fluid required for running or retrieving the BOP-Stack or the LMRP. Its functions to reduce BOP closing times and or to serve as a backup supply of power fluid. The LMRP mounted Accumulator have a surface controlled valve to permit isolation of the supply pressure to these accumulators so that the surface pump system can be directed straight through to a selected BOP Stack function.
Riser Female Multi-Port Receptacle on the LMRP
Two (2) Riser Female Multi-Port Receptacles are required for the Modular BOP Control System, one for each Subsea BOP Control Pod. The Riser Female Multi-Port Receptacles are installed on the Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP) so that they are aligned with the male Multi-Port Stabs of the Modular Subsea BOP Control Pods. They are cylindrical in shape and are manufactured from stainless steel. They are both supported by elastomer springs so that they are positively engaged in contact with the "test rings" in the pods and pushed down as the pod "lands" onto the LMRP. The receptacles can also "float" radially as the Male Stabs are extended into them.
The receptacles have female ports in the outside surface for installation of fittings for attachment to hydraulic hoses that connect them to the LMRP mounted
equipment. The inside surfaces of the receptacles are machined to a smooth finish suitable for establishing a seal with the elastomer seal
units in the Male Stabs. Since the seal surfaces are cylindrical, there are no hydraulic forces tending to cause vertical separation of the male and female portions of the connectors.
Stack Female Multi-Port Receptacle on the BOP-Stack
Two (2) Stack Female Multi-Port Receptacles are required for the Modular BOP Control System, one for each Subsea BOP Control Pod. The Stack Female Multi-Port Receptacles are installed on the BOP-Stack so that they are aligned with the male Multi-Port Stabs of the Subsea BOP Control Pods. They are cylindrical in shape and are manufactured from stainless steel. They are both supported by elastomer springs so that they are positively engaged in contact with the "test rings" in the pods and pushed down as the pod "lands" onto the LMRP. The receptacles can also "float" radially for about 1/8-inch as the Male Stabs are extended into them.
The receptacles have female ports in the outside surface for installation of JIC fittings for attachment to hydraulic hoses, which connect them to the BOP-Stack mounted equipment. The inside surfaces of the receptacles are machined to a smooth finish suitable for establishing a seal with the elastomer seal units in the Male Stabs. Since the seal surfaces are cylindrical, there are no hydraulic forces tending to cause vertical separation of the male and female portions of the connectors.
Brackets, Dual Alignment, for Subsea Pod
Eight (8) Brackets are required for bolting the Modular BOP Control Pod alignment for installation on riser package stab plate.
Pod Retainer Blocks
Four (4) Pod lock brackets for installation on riser package stab plate.
Shuttle Valves
Four (4) shuttle valves (Gilmore) are required for the Upper and Lower Annular Preventer functions.
All of the shuttle valves are made from stainless steel, size 1-1/2" 5,000 psi working pressure.
Additional stainless steel shuttle valves (Gilmore), 1", ½” and ½” unbalanced, 5,000 psi working pressure are required.
Pilot Operated Check Valve
Two (2) stainless steel pilot operated check valves, 1-1/2" Size, 5,000 psi wp are mounted on the Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP).
Subsea mounted accumulators need to have a surface controlled valve to permit isolation of the supply pressure to the subsea accumulators so that the surface
pump system can be directed straight through to a selected BOP-Stack function, such as the shear rams.
One-(1) stainless steel pilot operated check valves, 3/4" Size, 3.000 psi wp is required.
Pilot operated check valves, with 3/4" size ports, are usually installed on the Riser Connector of the Lower Marine Riser Package and on the Wellhead Connectors of the BOP-Stack. The unit on the Riser Connector is installed on the "LATCH" line of the connector to ensure that it remains "LATCH" even if pressure is lost to this line. The unit on the Wellhead Connector is installed so that the connector remains in the "UNLATCH" position without pressure while the BOP-Stack is being run. This ensures a safe landing of the Wellhead Connector as it lands on the Wellhead. These pilot operated check valves are manufactured from stainless steel.
MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT
To complete the BOP control system additional equipment as listed below is required:
Hose Sheave
Two (2) hose sheave will be supplied with the system. The hose sheave is circular in shape and is sized to ensure that the control hose cannot be bent to less than the manufacturer’s recommended minimum bend radius. The sheave utilizes a standard sheave wheel to give full cable support throughout its turning radius.
The sheave has keepers to prevent the hose from jumping out. A sturdy pad eye is suitably located for attachment of the sheave to the rig structure. The keepers and the lifting eye mechanism are attached to the sheave frame with pins are retained in place with stainless steel, hairpin type clips.
These pins permit installation and removal of the hose without disassembling the keepers. There are no threaded connections on these devices. The hairpin clips are permanently attached to the cable sheave frame with sturdy lanyards.
The structure parts of the sheave are constructed of seal-welded ASTM A36 carbon steel and painted. All other hardware parts are manufactured from corrosion resistant materials.
Hose Clamps
Umbilical clamps to attach umbilical to pod retrieving line will be provided. The umbilical clamps are made of stainless steel and designed for a wire line diameter of 1” and an umbilical diameter of 119 mm +/- 2mm.
Hose Saddle
Two (2) hose saddle assembly for 4.5” Maximum diameter hose will be provided.
Jumper Umbilical
Two (2) Surface control jumper umbilical hose (80 ft) and (140 ft) length for connecting hydraulic panel to yellow and blue hose reel with male half of surface control hose junction boxes at each end will be provided.
TEST EQUIPMENT
In order to do routine testing on the BOP control system some test equipment is required as listed below:
Pod Test Stand
The Pod Test Stand allows testing of the output ports on the Control POD deliver the demanded pressure and are fully functional. The Pod Test Stand is designed for safe area operation.
Modular Control Pod Test Kit
One (1) Pod Test Kit will be provided for simple hydraulic function test of the Pod after removing the upper multiplex package. It will consist of a hydraulic junction plate, hydraulic jumper hoses and a control box.
SHEAR BOOST CIRCUIT(FOR USE WITH EVO BOP STACK)
One (1) separate steel skid module with provisions for mounting accumulator bottles, air pumps, valves, piping and gauges. Ten (10) accumulator bottles, 15 gallon size, 6000 PSI max working pressure, bottom-loading, bladder type, ASME certified, mounted on a 4-1/2” OD machined steel bottle manifold, complete with high pressure 4-botl code 62 SAE flanged end connections. Bottle mounting hardware to include all necessary U-bolts, nuts, lock washers and high pressure nipples. System to include the following major components.
Two (2) 60:1 air operated hydraulic pump assembly
One (1) 1” 5000 PSI manually operated pressure reducing and regulating valve, 5000 PSI input WP rating.
One (1) 1” 5000 PSI Hydraulic Control Valve, manually operated, 4-way selector type, 1” NPT threaded connections
One (1) ¾” Relief Valve factory set at 5,500 psi.
One (1) 1” 5000 PSI Shuttle Valve, to be assembled in the “Close” pipe line to the Close Shear Ram BOP port.

One (1) air piloted, air control valve to assist in air actuated closure of 1” 5000 PSI Shear Ram close control value.
One (1) Shear Boost System Kit for Subsea Function, including shuttle valves, relief valves, throttle valve and additional piping and fittings.
Note: Interconnecting piping and fittings required to hook-up on board the rig is not included. Applicable material can be quoted later as defined lengths are determined.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
F.I.T.
The control system will be tested in accordance with Cameron FAT procedure with the following tests:
Pressure test with 1-1/2 times the required working pressure of single units
Function test of single units
Function test of Complete System (Integration Test)
Complete (100%) functional tests with customer reviewed and approved test procedures will be done to demonstrate that the equipment will meet all specified operational and functional requirements.
After test the system will be flushed to the predetermined cleanliness class.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Project Management, consisting of a project manager and support team as required per the current specifications. All travel, lodging and meals required by customer will be billed at extra cost with supporting documents.
