KTC-240 Linear winch :
The blocks are guided along 2 parallel U rails with stainless steel
removable supports and self lubricated interchangeable bearings.
For weight reasons, the frame is built in 2 seperate bolted parts,
and the gripped are removable from the frame.
The linear winch is attached working hanging or rested, horizontally
on deck foundations (yard supply).

The winch shall be capable of hauling-in and paying-out under any load,
in automatic and manual mode, in continuous operation.
It also includes 4 guide rollers (2 horizontal and 2 vertical ones) for the
back side (low tension side).
Hydraulic control modules :
The linear winch frame includes 2 hydraulic modules (one for each gripper)
for the synchronization, control and safety of the grippers of the linear winch.
They are mounted and piped on the frame itself. They are suitable to operate
into a hazardous area (Atex zone 1).
They are equipped with an integrated line-pull limitation. A potentiometer
adjusts the line-pull between 0 and 100%, and a software preset adjusts
the 100% betweem 50 t and 240 t.
For the powering of the linear winch, an external and independent
2 × 75 kW. HPU in LS control and with 2 × 130 l/min @ 310 barg. The HPU
has 4 outlets on each pump : pressure, return, drain and LS. The linear
winch must be fitted to this system for male connections (hydraulic inlet
power to the linear winch).
Required oil power for the linear winch should be as follows :
two identical and independent supplies (1 for each gripper) of 3 lines
each, with each the following utilities requirements :
P with 130 l/min at 310 bar per gripper
R with 160 l/min at ≤ 5 bar per gripper
D with 15 l/min at ≤ 1 bar per gripper
Fittings internal on the linear winch :
On the main connections/ tubing it's require with SAE flanges.
On the smaller connections/ tubing where SAE flange won't
be used (10 and 12 mm tubes) it's required with parker EO2
The hydraulic connections shall be assembling on one place
(scot plate) for each gripper.
Connections shall be as follow :
Pressure : 5/4" bsp male
Return : 1.1/2" bsp male
Drail : 3/4" bsp male
LS : 1/4" bsp male
Local control cabinet & panel :
The winch is supplied with the PLC control and command,
necessary for its full control and located remotely to the
winch. It is suitable for hazardous area (Zone 1)
a) PLC Cabinet :
The PLC cabinet is supplied loose, to be mounted into a
weather protected control container
It will include :
Power supply 230 v - 50/60 hz delivered with electrical supply cable
H07RN-F rubber cable 2,5G3 (2,5 mm2 with 2 conductors + earth)
PLC, Siemens S7
This PLC is used to control the linear winch functions (in automatic
and manual operations).
There is also a Profibus port available for connection with the HPU PLC.
It may be used for interfacing the HPU commands (on-off) and to monitor
the HPU faults and alarms.
Control panels :
It will include the following :
316L stainless steel panel, 3 mm (385 mm (H) × 540 mm (W)

5" 1/2 Exe screen for cable tension, speed & length displays,

Party verification :
This order includes a 3rd party FAT witness certificate from DNV.
It includes :
Witness of pressure tests (hydraulic cylinders, piping)
Witness of FAT
Lifting pad-eyes certificate DNV 2.7.3 for offshore handling.
Drop tests and lifting on 2 points are not provided.
Manufacturing documentation review
This equipment is designed to be operated on open deck.
Painting : A 3 coating marine paint, 320 µ is included. It will be according to Norsok
M501 RAL 1007 system 1.
Concerning the piping on the winch, it is CS made, and the manifold blocks
have BSP ports for fitting quick release couplings.
Quality control :
Quality control is carried out according to ISO 9001-2008.
An ITP is issued during the first month after contract, and progress plan and
reports are regularly controlled.
All the necessary documentation ( according to Norsok Z-015)
related to the design, fabrication, testing, inspection and maintenance of the riser
pulling equipment will be provided
This will include :
Design drawlings and as-built GA drawings
Material certificates and test reports
Equipment and instrumentation data sheets
Traceability records of raw materials such as steel plate, fasteners, pins
and shafting from Kley France sub-vendors.
Welding procedures (WPS's), Procedure qualification reports
(PQR's), and welder qualifications
NDE procedures, records, and qualifications of NDE personnel
Non-conformance/discrepancy reports and final dispositions
