The accommodation module is designed and built for 50 persons but can be modified
on request.
This technical specification describes the scope of delivery of the complete
accommodation module.

General
Design criteria
The design of the module is based on the following international rules, regulations
and specifications :

IMO Resolution A.486 (XII)
International Electrical Code (IEC)
DNV-OS-C101 (Structural only)
Purpose specific criteria for oa HVAC, Safety design philosophy, Living Quarter and
Helicopter-deck specification,
General design and outfitting.
Classification
Classification and verification by Lloyds Register The accommodation module is classified
as a ”SAFE AREA”. The full envelop of the accommodation module is fire rated for
a hydrocarbonfree environment.
Geometry
The footprint of the Accommodation module (excluding walkways and landing platform) is
20.8 m x 10.8 m.
The lay down area adds another 8 meters to the length.
Height from base to top of 4th level is 15.15m. Overall height including Helicopter deck is
20.3m from base.
The module is designed to be supported on minimum four points with footprint
12,0m x 10,5m.
The total weight of the module is 551 metric tons.
General Layout
The module comprises of four accommodation levels.
The base level has a lay-down area for two 10 feet containers.
On the roof level are located a plant room and a Local Equipment Room (LER).
On top is an aluminum helicopter deck. Two stair towers are fitted; one on each side
of the module.
All utility connections are located at the bottom of the utility shaft and in the control
room/ LER,allowing for easy hook-up of systems. Levels have following general layout :
Level 1 : Galley, Mess room, Cold store etc.
Level 2 : Cabins
Level 3 : Cabins
Level 4 : Control room, offices, and recreation rooms.
Documentation
The accommodation module will be delivered with complete as-built documentation
package includingoa drawings, test reports, certificates, weight report, Installation
& Operation Manual.
Structural
General
The accommodation module is designed and constructed as a four level building with a
plant room and LER at roof level. The helideck support structure is an integrated part of
the module’s skeleton. Two exterior stair towers are provided from 1st level to helideck
level. Roof and lay down area are provided with railing.
Primary steel is S335 J2G3 and secondary steel S235 J2 (with appropriate certification).
Accommodation is fully welded by qualified welders and in accordance with approved
welding procedures. 10% (random) MPI is executed on major beams.
Helideck
The helicopter deck is constructed from seawater resistant aluminum and has an
octagonal shape inscribed in a circle of 22.2 meter. It is fitted with safety netting and a
drain gutter around its perimeter. The support structure is constructed of hot rolled carbon
steel beams. The helicopter deck is certified for a Sikorsky S61N.
Lifting arrangement
The accommodation module and helideck can be lifted as one module. The 551 tonnes
module is lifted from lifting points at the top of the accommodation structure (roof). The
aluminium helideck is executed with hatches to accommodate access for the lifting gear.
Lifting columns and eyes are 100% MPI inspected.
Protective coating
All steel is blasted to SA 2½ and coated in shop primer. External steel is coated with
3-layer International® system; internal steel is coated with a 1-layer system.
Architectural
General specification
Inside of bulkheads and decks are provided with insulation and applied with interior wall
panels where applicable. Floors (steel or insulation tiles) are applied with levelling screed
and finished with either vinyl or seamless epoxy (in “wet” areas). All rooms are provided
with a cassette type false ceiling system. Windows are welded marine type and provided
with roller blinds or curtains. Internal stairway reaching from 1st to 4th level provided with
St.st. handrail on both sides.

Locker rooms with 52 steel lockers, benches, hand wash basin, one shower, a urinal and
two toilets
Locker room Female
Locker room with 10 steel lockers, a bench, hand wash basin, one shower and one toilet.
Tea Room
Tea room (12 m2) with benches, a phone booth and a Kitchenette.
Mess Room
Mess room (45 m2) with 4 off 6-person tables, a serving counter, lockable cupboard and
overhead screen.
Level 2
Laundry
Laundry room (12,0 m2) with oa washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, washing
bin and shelves
Fitness
Fitness area (12 m2) . Fitness equipment not part of delivery.
Linen Store
Linen store room (4 m2) with steel shelving.
Fireman’s Outfit store
In corridor next to stairway.

10 off 2-person cabins (9,25 m2 excl bathroom), each cabin fitted with a double bunk bed,
a desk (1.4 x 0.6 m) with chair, an easy chair, a cupboard, a locker for immersion suit and
a bathroom.
Level 3
Health Office
Health office (14,7 m2) with desk, chair, bathroom, cupboard, inflatable bath, medicine
cupboard, examining couch and file cabinet
5 x 4-person cabin
5 off 4-person cabins (10 m2 excl bathroom), each cabin fitted with two double beds
(top is fold-away), a desk with chair, an easy chair, a cupboard, a locker for immersion suit
and a bathroom.
5 x 2-person cabin
5 off 2-person cabins (9,25 m2 excl bathroom), each cabin fitted with a double bunk bed, a
desk with chair, an easy chair, a cupboard, a locker for immersion suit and a bathroom.
Linen Store
Linen store room (4 m2) with steel shelving.
Fireman’s Outfit store
In corridor next to stairway.

Safety & Fire Protection
Fire main system
A hose reel system is fitted throughout the accommodation at all levels. Two hose reels
per level and two hose reelsfor the helicopter deck. Fire water is to be supplied externally.
Fire & Smoke detecting system
On every level fire detectors and smoke detectors are installed
Portable extinguishers
Various classes A, B and C, (weights from 5 to 12kg) portable extinguishers are distributed
throughout the module.
For the helicopter deck 2 off 10 kg CO² extinguishers are provided.
Galley hood protection system
A “R-102” kitchen fire suppression system is installed in the galley hood and galley ducts.
Safety Signs
Safety signs (in the English language) and overall safety plan are installed inside the
accommodation module.
Corridors have fluorescent safety striping on low level.
Safety equipment
The module is fitted with the following safety equipment: Stretcher / 4 off Fireman outfit’s/
Supplement for firemen’soutfit / Helicopter deck rescue kit / First aid box / 4 off Eye wash
bottles / Fire blankets.
Helicopter deck foam system
A helicopter deck AFFF-foam system is installed. A twin agent 250 kg dry powder and
250 litres of concentrated foam are located near the helideck. (As per NMD)
