Main Engines
Main engines to be two (2) Cummins QSK 60, each developing an MCR of 2200 BHP at
1800 RPM, giving a total of about 4400 BHP Continuous power.
Geberators - Main
Two (2) marine diesel generating sets, heat exchanger cooled, each rated approx 250
KW, 415V, 3 Phase, 50 Hz, 0.8 P.F.. The two units are to be able to operate in parallel.

Life Saving Equipment
Life saving equipment is to be in accordance with Classification and Solas requirements
for an Ocean Going Vessel with a total complement of thirty (30) men.
The Life saving equipment shall include at least the following:-
Liferafts : Four (4) inflatable liferafts to SOLAS requirement, each certified for
twenty (20) men are to be stowed in hinged type cradles for quick sideway launching. All
to be SOLAS Approved.
Lifebuoys : Eight (8) lifebuoys of PVC or equal approved construction. Four (4)
lifebuoys with 90-Ft buoyancy line Four (4) lifebuoys with 90-Ft buoyancy line and selfigniting
electric lights Two (2) smoke signals of the latter). All to be SOLAS approved.
One (1) lifebuoy to be positioned close to stern.
Lifejackets : Thirty-eight (38) approved type lifejackets to be supplied and stowed
adjacent to each berth. Including 2 Spare jackets. All to be SOLAS approved.
Pyrotechnics : Twelve- (12) parachute distress rockets. Two (2) orange smoke
signals each to have 120 seconds discharge time and be waterproof.
Rescue Boat : One (1) Solas approved type rigid 6-men rescue Boat c/w 25BHP
outboard engine and approved gravity type davit is to be provided
Line Throwing : One (1) set Line Throwing Apparatus to meet with SOLAS
requirement.
Retro Reflective : Life Saving appliances are to be fitted with reflective tapes .
Boat Hooks : Two (2) boat hooks c/w approx. 8mm handle.
First Aid Kit : As per rules.
Firefighting Equipment
Internal firefighting
Firefighting equipment is to meet Classification and relevant Flag state Regulations.
Generally all in accordance with the following:
Firemain:-
A firemain and hydrants are to be installed, six (6) on various deck levels and two in
engine room. 10M canvas fire hose c/w brass coupling and nozzle is to be supplied and
stowed alongside each hydrant in a protective box. All nozzles to be dual jet/spay type.
International shore connection is to be fitted.
Fireman's Outfit:-
Two (2) complete sets (each contained in its own separate storage unit) of fireman's outfit
are to be provided, comprising the following:-
-one (1) protective clothing
-one( 1) breathing apparatus
- oxygen tank and mask
-one( 1) fireman's axe
-one( 1) safety lamp of portable battery type
-one( 1) set of gloves and boots
External Firefighting
The following equipment are to be fitted for the vessel to comply with half Fi Fi
standards with water spray curtain.
a) Fire Pump
Two (2) unit seawater pump, one 1700 M3/Hr drive by main engine , other one 1200
M3/H drive by independent engine at 14 kg/cm2 to supply the fire monitor.
b) Fire Monitor Two (2) units monitor at 1200 m3/hr each (Foam/ Water) Remote
controlled.
Navigation and Communications Equipment
One (1) unit of DSC watch keeping receiver.
Two (2) units of search and rescue radar transponder (SART)
One (1) Inmarsat “C” station with voice, fax, email facility.
One (1) unit of NAVTEX Receiver
One (1) EPIRB
One (1) MF/HF SSB
Two (2) Radars, both X-band, meeting SOLAS & GMDSS, both Furuno 1510 with
ARPA function
One (1) speed log system comprising transducer receiver, inter-phasing facility and
interconnecting cable shall be provided and installed.
One (1) master gyro-compass fitted with five (5) gyro repeaters positioned as follows :-
One (1) centrally located in wheelhouse forward steering station as steering compass
One (1) centrally located in wheelhouse aft steering station
Two (2) outside of wheelhouse positioned clear of obstructions so as to allow bearings to
be taken, fitted with azimuthing ring capable of obtaining compass errors.
One (1) auto pilot compatible and interfaced with gyro and steering compass.
One (1) magnetic compass, 7 inch reflector type c/w correction magnet, quadrant balls
and reflector tube and compass binnacle, Azimuth device.
One (1) DGPS (Global Positioning System) navigator.
One (1) echo-sounder, 0-036 ft deep range c/w repeater at aft manoeuvring station.
Three (3) sets walkie talkie, intrinsically safe, complete with spare battery and chargers.
SSB set (See separate clause).

Anchor Handling Fork, Shark Jaw
One (1) set electro-hydraulically operated anchor handling fork (hydraulic retractable
shark jaws) of approved make to be installed in centreline on main deck aft. The stopper
to be able to take 2” to 3” dia. Wire and 1-1/4” to 3” dia. Chain.
SWL to be 200 tonnes. Stopper to have separate hydraulic power unit and to be remotely
controlled from the cargo rail on main deck aft and from wheelhouse aft.
Towing Pins (200t SWL)
Two (2) vertical hydraulic towing pins of approved make, retractable type, closed top to
be installed in the centreline of the main deck. The anchor handling pins to extend about
600mm above main decklevel in the fully extended position. The pins are to be operable
from wheelhouse aft and locally.
Capstans
Two (2) electro- hydraulic/hydraulic capstans each of 5 tonnes at 15m/min capacity to be
installed aft as shown on the General arrangement drawing light load speed to be
30m/min. Local controls.
