EAST-FRIGG
History :
The field was put onstream in 1988 in a water depth of 100 metre. In 1997 the field was
shutdown and in 1999 the production wells were decommissioned, plugged and
abandoned. The field was located 18km from the Frigg complex.
A technological pioneer project developed for diverless installation and operation. The
first subsea field on the Norwegian shelf with remote controlled wells in several clusters.
The East-Frigg development was based on modular principles as the first of its kind.
Design Parameters :
EF installations were designed for a minimum flow-rate of 1.25MSM3/d and a maximum
flow-rate of 6.5MSM3/d. The maximum working pressure rating was 345bar. Bottom hole
flowing temperature approx 62 deg C, Wellhead hole flowing temperature approx 35-40
deg C, Wellhead static temperature 4-6 deg C. Design was based on 5 subsea production
wells located over 2 production templates PSA & PSB. For reduncy reasons and to
minimize intervention it was decided at this time to include 2 off Xmas trees in series
for each well. 1 off Vetco and 1 off ”Well Jumper Module tree Cameron.
There were 3 wells on PSA and 2 wells on PSB , the two production stations produced to a
central manifold station (CMS) located halfway between the 2 production stations which
were approx 3km from each other. Production flowed via the CMS to Frigg where it was
metered and treated.
Status :
Currently stored in Tananger Norway. Has been maintained throughout delivery installation
and return onshore.
Major assemblies comprises :
5 off Vetco Xmas tree and tree cap assemblies, each gas production tree comprising 18 ¾”
SG-5 wellhead connector, integral with 5” x 2” , 5,000psi working pressure valve block, with
