Hoisting Circuit Each winch is driven by a common open loop hydraulic system including piston pump, piston motor and epicycles gearbox. Each winch is fitted with oil immersed, multi-disc and dynamically rated “fail safe” brake. The fixed displacement hoist motors offer a constant operating speed. Slewing Circuit The slew circuit is driven by a common open loop hydraulic system. Dynamic braking of slewing is by means of hydrostatic compensation. Similarly positive locking brakes are fitted in the circuit and used as static brake. Luffing Circuit Luff circuit is driven by a common open loop hydraulic system. Each winch is fitted with oil immersed, multi-disc,dynamically rated “fail safe” brake. an additional luff ratchet cylinder is included, providing a positive means of locking the luff drum whenever the prime mover is shutdown.
