Service Conditions :
The rig is capable for undertaking work over operations in Oil/ Gas /
Injection / Effluent disposal wells/CBM wells etc. up to depth of 3000 mts
approximately with tubing string of 2 7/8" to 3-1/2" in 5" to 9 5/8" casings,
depending on the weight of completion equipment. The work over jobs
include but are not limited to servicing/ installation of artificial lift equipment,
cleaning of well bore, gravel packing, sand screening, stimulation, well
abandonment, transfer of horizons, water shut off, gas shut off, water
injection profile modification and re-completion, retrieval of gravel pack
assembly, fishing & releasing of stuck up, multi-layer testing, casing
repair etc. in vertical/deviated/horizontal multilateral / ERD / USRD wells etc.
1. Workover Rig
The Rig XJ 550 is a brand new self propelled rig and capable of workover
/ testing / completion/service upto 5800m using 2 7/8 " drill pipe and and
4500m using 3 1/2" drill pipe. The rig is having the hook load capacity of
135 ton and manufactured as per latest API standards applicable in the
oilfield Industry.
The rig is equipped with :
a) Four leg leaning type, Hydraulically telescoping, two section, foldable,

clear height of 112 ft from ground level and rated static hook load capacity
135 T with 8 lines strung on traveling block.
The mast is designed as per latest API 4E/4F standard code and practice.
The Mast can is equipped with suitable Finger Board which can accommodate
5200 mts of range-II, 2 7/8" tubulars in doubles.
b) Twin safety device (floor-o-matic and crown-o-matic) is available.
c) Top man escape device will be provided.
d) Suitable locking system would be provided with additional safety manual
lock for telescoping of mast to full height.
e) The mast is designed to withstand wind speed of minimum 60 knots as per
Clause 6.2.3 of API 4F with full pipe/ setback with all guy ropes properly placed
as per standard API pattern.
f) Hydraulic Cat works :
For make up & breakout consisting of hydraulic make up (spinning) cylinder
providing 10000lbs (4444kg) minimum line pull and hydraulic break out cylinder
to develop a minimum line pull of 20000lbs. Control for make up & breakout is
located at Driller's console.
g) Draw works with suitable rating for handling 100MT hook load capacity,
equipped with suitable auxiliary hydromatic brake for safe running in of the string.
The Draw works should have sufficient range of forward speed and one reverse
speed.
XJ 550 Draw Work Input HP rating 550 HP. Nominal depth rating 2000 mts with
tubing, fitted with compatible mechanical brake system and driven by a suitable
Detroit make diesel engine. Draw works having 4 forward and one reverse speed.
Draw works drum having main drum Lebus Groove for 1 1/8” line. Main drum
brake having maximum wrap around feature energizing type brake. Crown-o-matic
protection device to protect the Crown is also provided.
g) The draw works is powered by 1 no. of "CATERPILLAR"make, model
C-15 ACERT diesel engine of 540 HP at 2100 rpm with ALLISION make, heavy
duty transmission consists of torque converter, model "M5610AR" and suitable
power trend through compound/chain drive and gear boxes.
The power pack is perfectly suitable for effective hook load of 135 MT and to work
on 5000m deep well. The power pack is completed with standard gauges, meter,
safety equipment and spark arrestor. Engine is equipped with independent
interlock pneumatically operated starting system during the workover mode and
the electric starting system during the roading.
h) SJ Petroleum Machinery Co. make Model "YG-150"hydrahook with combination
block having 4 nos. of sheavesof 30" diameter. The hook has built in hydraulic
snubber,conventional rotation lock and safety positioner etc.,rated capacity is
150 tonne and is capable to operate 2-7/8" to 3-1/2" tubing and 2-7/8" to 3-1/2"
drill pipes up to required depth.
j) Racking Board is of adjustable type and completed with topman emergency
escape device from monkey board to ground, railings & safety belts. The Racking
Board is having sufficient provision to rack 3 1/2" / 2 7/8" tubulars/drill pipes for
5000m Drill pipe/ 6000m tubing and having provision for height adjustment at three
different convenient positions.
2. Substructure
S J Petroleum make Sub-Structure,made as per API-4F rigid type, completed
with all respect to carry out drilling jobs, 13' below the rotary beam. Substructure
having sufficient space to accommodate the 3 stack BOP (one Pipe Ram + One
Blind Ram+ one Annular) with riser nipple in workover mode. The structure is
completed with rotary beam, railing,side platform, setback area and stair way.
The sub-structure can accommodate 17 ½” Rotary Table on it.
3. Rotary Equipment
SJ Petroleum Machinery Co., China make, Model "ZP175"or equivalent rotary
table with 17.5" opening without master bushing.
The table is completed with master bushingand kelly bushing.The rotary table is
driven by chain-sprocket and the mechanism is powered by the drawworks.
4. Kelly
40 feet Square / hexagonal Kelly 3" size as per API 7 suitable for working upto
350 kg / cm2 (5000 psi) working pressure with required connections along-with
saver subs will be provided. Upper and lower Kelly cock of suitable size with
pressure rating of 5000 psi will also be available.
5. Swivel
a) SJ Petroleum Machinery Co., make, Model "SL-135", rotary swivel having
static/dead load capacity of 135 tonnes and working pressure rating 5000 psi
and completed with bail bumper support, goose neck connection to rotary
hose etc. Swivel bottom pin connection 6 5/8" API regular left hand.
(b) With 3” diameter quick change goose neck assembly with working pressure
5000 psi.
6. Hydraulic Winch
The Rig is provided with minimum 1 no. of hydraulic winch with catline for
handling tubulars having pulling capacity not less than 3MT.
7. Mud System
Mud system is capable to handle drilling mud Sp. Gr. upto approximately 1.8.
7.1 Mud Pump
(a) BOMCO China Make, model "F-500" triplex slush pump rated at 500 HP,
unitized to a reputed Make diesel engine having sufficient capacity, through
belt drive compound with shaft or chain drive is acceptable and 5 speed heavy
duty gear box with Centrifugal supercharging pump, having pulsation dampener,
safety relief valve, pressure gauge etc.
Mounted on a steel oil field skid, 20 gallon, heavy duty Type-F 6000 psi mud
gauge, Pumps dressed with 3 1/2" to 6" liners as per operational requirement.
The pump is capable of handling work over operation in 5 1/2"casing with 2 7/8"
tubular upto a depth of 6500 mts. with mud of specific gravity- 2.3.
(b) Capacity of Pump
Discharge : Minimum 12 cbm / hr. at 5000 psi.
Minimum 52 M3 / hr. at 2000 psi.
7.2 Discharge System
a) Rotary hose of suitable size having working pressure of 350 Kg/Cm2 (5000 psi)
with suitable connections will be provided.
b) Suitable end connections of suction line and delivery manifold will be provided.
c) Stand pipe of suitable size and pressure rating along with pressure gauge is
also present.
7.3 Mud/Work over fluid storage/ Handling arrangement
i) Tanks having capacity (volume) not less than 80 cubic meter with permanent
level markings from bottom will be provided.
ii) Arrangement is provided for brine/mud preparation, mud mixing, mud agitators
/ bottom gun jets of best engineering
iii) Transfer pump for working fluid / mud from tankers into tank and tank
to tank and back to tanker (if required) along with pumping system.
iv) Necessary system lines wherever required.
v) Calibrated mud hopper of suitable size with butterfly valve and proper line
connection will be provided with gunning arrangement.
vi) One trip tank of approximately 8 m3 with suitable connections and valves
will be available. It will be equipped with sufficient capacity of centrifugal transfer
pump & motor suitable for hazardous area.
vii) Skid mounted / portable filtration unit for brine to get the out let brine solution
of 5 micron quality at flow rate 40M3/hr at working pressure 10Kg/cm2 after fine
filter with suitable motor for hazardous area .
8. Fuel Storage
Sufficient fuel storage to undertake the workover operations will be provided
9. Water Storage
Tank with storage Capacity of 40 m3 equipped with transfer pump of suitable
capacity with necessary hook up lines/ system will be provided.
10. Well Control Equipment
The following well control equipment will be provided :
a) Hydraulically operated Cameron / Shaffer / Hydril make, one double ram type
Blow Out Preventor of 7-1/16" X 5000 PSI working pressure having one set of blind
ram and one set pipe rams to handle size 3-1/2" and 2-7/8".
b) Hydraulically operated Cameron / Shaffer / Hydril make, one annular Blow
Out Preventor of 7- 1/16"X5000 PSI working pressure.
c) Or one no of 3 stack unitized BOP containing items as mentioned at a) & b) above.
d) One set of stem & wheel for manually closing BOP as per OISD standard-174.
e) One. No of shanghai shenkai petroleum chemical equipment, 6/8 bottle hydraulic
control unit, capable of operating the BOP with suitable Pneumatic and electric
motor driven pump. The system pressure is 3000 PSI. Necessary 1" BOP control
hose to connect BOP with control unit.
1 (one) nos., of remote control unit placed on drillers console. Unit will have two
charging systems i.e. Pneumatic and electric with auto start and stop facility.
Flame proof DGMS approved motor will be used. One set of stem and wheel to
operate the BOP mechanically.
f) Adapter flange/ spool/dummy spools of following size will also be available :-
Change over spool 7-1/16" 5000 psi x 7-1/6" 10000 psi - 1 no
g) 1 no. BOP test plugs or Cup tester/ accessories will also be provided.
h) Plug valves, tubing shut off valve and FOSV of 5000 PSI having necessary
connections and changeovers for 2-7/8" & 3-1/2" NU /EUE tubings/ Drill pipes
will also be provided.
11. Choke and Kill Manifold
Choke & Kill manifold is as per API of size minimum 2-1/16" having minimum
5000 psi WP along with sufficient quantity of flexible steel piping of minimum
5000 psi WP of suitable size fitted with NRV in kill lines. It has a suitable
combination of valves having provision to flow the well through fixed choke,
variable choke and one bypass also. There is also a provision to kill the well
through kill line as well as one additional line for making connection through
cementing.
12. Handling tools as per API 8C
a) Center latch elevator for minimum 100MT capacity and minimum 01 no.
for each category will also be provided.

b) Elevator links Elevator links-forged as per API 8C, rated capacity-minimum
100MT, size 1-3/4"x72". qty 2 nos will be provided.
c) Power (Pneumatic) slips
We will provide Light Weight pneumatic slip/spider, with sufficient spares,
inserts suitable for 2-7/8" and 3-1/2" tubing and drill pipes along with all
associated connections, hoses and Couplings. Operating valve at driller's
console.
d) Hydraulic tubing tong (Qty-1)
A Light weight hydraulic tubing tongs as per relevant API for 2 7/8" and 3-1/2"
tubings with replaceable jaws minimum torque rating 8000 ft lbs along with
sufficient spares would be provided.
e) Heavy duty Tong. (Qty-02)
Range 2-3/8" to 4-1/2", and to handle all fishing tools and milling tools as per
relevant API, torque rating minimum 35000 ft-lbs with hanger arrangement
along with sufficient spares will also be provided.
f) Handling Tools for Sucker Rods and Polished Rods
Tongs & elevators for handling 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1-1/8" & 1-1/4" sucker rods
and polished rods will be provided.
13) Cross Over Subs
Bit subs, cross over subs and all necessary subs to handle work with 2-7/8" &
3-1/2" tubing and drill pipe string or their combinations will be provided.
14) Rig instrumentation suitable for Hazardous area.
a) Deadline weight indicator with sensator/ load cell on driller console/control panel,
indicating load on hook for the designed capacity of the rig will be provided.
b) Suitable recorder for recording hook load will be provided and it will be mounted
in weight indicator box
c) Mud pump pressure indicator would be complete, on drillers console/control
panel. 0- 6000 PSI.
d) Mud pump pressure gauge is mounted on stand pipe of 0-6000 PSI.
e) SPM indicator for mud pump discharge at drillers console/ local mud pump
control panel.
f) Indicators for B.O.P rams open/close for blindram, pipe rams & annular BOP on
drillers console/control panel is provided.
15. Safety Equipment
The rig is equipped with following fire fighting & safety equipment :
I. Fire fighting system as per OISD standard -189 :-
Para 6.0 i) Fire water storage facilities with fire pump.
ii) Portable Fire extinguishers.
Para 11.0 - Material specification of Fire water system.
Para 12.1 - Fire alarm system.
II. Explosion proof rig lighting at all hazardous locations as per Indian Oil Mines
Regulation in force.
III. Flame proof portable lamps (minimum 2 nos.)
IV. Emergency Kill system for derrick engine (control from driller's panel).
V. Electrical system will have suitable ELR (Earth leakage relay)
VI. First aid box with stretcher facilities as per OISD standards - 204 para 6.5 and
Annexure - H.
VII. Safety kits & liveries (as per standard statutory body) will be provided for
operating personnel. Top man safety belt also to be provided.
VIII. All the rotating parts must have proper safety Guards.
16. Drill String
a) Drill pipes 2-7/8" OD IF Right Hand, G grade of 10.4 ppf, premium Class I,
Range II, 3000 meter will be provided with rig along with latest NDT certificate.
b) Drill collars of sizes 3-1/2" of total length 50m with cross over to run 2-7/8"
& 3-1/2" drill pipe will be provided.
17. Other Equipments
The following equipment will also be provided :
a) Air system: Air compressor system of suitable capacity with air tank for operating
pneumatic Cellar pump, Hydraulic pump of BOP control unit etc.
b) Rig warehouse and POL store.
c) Rig In-charge Office.
d) One A/C bunk house for coordinator.
e) One bunk house for Contractor's operating personnel.
f) V door & cat walk with pipe racks on both sides.
g) Necessary transport equipment for movement of rig from one location to another.
h) Cellar pump- Air operated (Pneumatic) with suction hose of sufficient length.
i) Circulating head 5000 psi working pressure for 3-1/2" and 2-7/8" Drill pipes and
tubings with necessary change over
j) All trailor mounted equipments including rig trailor will meet the RTO regulation
including Registration
k) POWER GENERATOR: 2 nos. 125 KVA power generators, powered by Kirlosker/
Cummins or equivalent make diesel engine with "STAMFORD/JYOTI" make alternator
and properly designed control panel for rig
operation and illumination of work area with each other.
l) Sufficient number of suitable flanges, chicksens/ flexible joints and rubber hoses for
making all types of connections for working pressure 5000 psi will be available,
m) Welding machine/ Welding transformer powered by contractor's Gen Set along with
all associated welding and oxy - acetylene cutting accessories, gases and consumables
etc.
n) Potable water storage, filter and water cooler,
o) One no of red aviation light flickering type fitted with lamp at crown block shall
be available having independent circuit.
p) Mud balance
q) All rig equipments and facilities like bunkhouse store etc. will have effective double
distinct earthing system as per IER 1956.
