Description :
The helideck is octagonal in shape with maximum dimensions at 24.02 metres at the extremities, with a minimum deck diameter of 22.2 metres from the fore edge of the deck to the 210 deg chevron. This dimension results in a ‘D’ rating of ‘22’ for the deck. The deck has a rated maximum gross tonnage of 13000 Kg (13 tonne) giving a ‘T’ value of 13. The deck is constructed of extruded aluminium plate with a raise friction profile surface. The deck is surrounded by a PVC coated safety net that protrudes outward 1.5 metre at deck level for most of the perimeter of the deck. A fence consisting of metallic tubing frame borders passenger walkways. These fences are collapsed to deck level during takeoff and landing and erected for passenger safety for embarkation and disembarkation. The aiming circle is situated at centre of the deck. All markings on the deck meet the guidelines provided in CAP437. Design Helicopters : Sikorsky S-92 - 12.83 MT, D= 20.88 m Sikorsky S-61 N - 9.3 MT, D= 22.2 m 210 deg Obstacle Free Sector (OFS) The only obstacles that penetrate the 210 deg OFS on the ship are the passenger handrails. These must be collapsed to deck level during helicopter landings and takeoffs. Lighting : The deck has 26 green perimeter lights set at an average of 2.8 metres apart around the perimeter of the deck. There are 4 deck level Xenon floodlights set at deck at forward port, aft and starboard edges of the deck. Pyrotechnics : 12 parachute distress rockets. 2 orange smoke signals each to have 120 seconds discharge time and be waterproof.
Rescue Boat : 1 Solas approved type rigid 6-men rescue Boat c/w 25BHP outboard engine and approved gravity type davit is to be provided.
Line Throwing : 1 set Line Throwing Apparatus to meet with SOLAS requirement.
Retro Reflective : Life Saving appliances are to be fitted with reflective tapes.

Fire-Fighting Equipment
Internal Fire-fighting : Fire-fighting equipment is to meet Classification and relevant Flag state Regulations. Generally all in accordance with the following :
Firemain : A firemain and hydrants are to be installed, 6 on various deck levels and two in engine room. 10M canvas fire hose c/w brass coupling and nozzle is to be supplied and stowed alongside each hydrant in a protective box. All nozzles to be dual jet/spay type. International shore connection is to be fitted.
Fireman's Outfit : 2 complete sets (each contained in its own separate storage unit) of fireman's outfit are to be provided, comprising the following :
1 protective clothing 1 breathing apparatus Oxygen tank and mask 1 fireman's axe 1 safety lamp of portable battery type 1 set of gloves and boots
External Fire-Fighting : The following equipment are to be fitted for the vessel to comply with half Fi Fi standards with water spray curtain.
Fire Pump : 2 unit seawater pump, one 1700 M3/Hr drive by main engine , other one 1200 M3/H drive by independent engine at 14 kg/cm2 to supply the fire monitor.
Fire Monitor : 2 units monitor at 1200 m3/hr each (Foam/ Water) Remote controlled.
Navigation and Communication Equipment 1 unit of DSC watch keeping receiver 1 Inmarsat “C” station with voice, fax, email facility 1 EPIRB 2 Radars, both X-band, meeting SOLAS & GMDSS, both Furuno 1510 with ARPA function 2 units of search and rescue radar transponder (SART) 1 unit of NAVTEX Receiver 1 MF/HF SSB 1 speed log system comprising transducer receiver, inter-phasing facility and interconnecting cable shall be provided and installed

Towing Pins (200t SWL) 2 vertical hydraulic towing pins of approved make, retractable type, closed top to be installed in the centreline of the main deck. The anchor handling pins to extend about 600mm above main decklevel in the fully extended position. The pins are to be operable from wheelhouse aft and locally.
Capstans 2 electro- hydraulic/hydraulic capstans each of 5 tonnes at 15m/min capacity to be installed aft as shown on the General arrangement drawing light load speed to be 30m/min. Local controls.
